A look at some of our outstanding graduating students
Liliana Flores
Telling her story through art
Liliana Flores was told by her doctors that college would be “a waste of her time.” But in May 2024, she graduated with her degree from ASU’s School of Art, Liliana has proven that investing in her future is never a waste of time.
Dominique Joseph
Landing a fashion industry job in LA
ASU FIDM student Dominique Joseph is already making her mark in the fashion world — landing a job in Los Angeles before she even graduated and laying the groundwork for her long-term ambition to start a company that values sustainability and diversity.
Aubrey Lines
Continuing the family tradition
It’s not a stretch to call the Lineses the first family of ASU. Starting with Alma Davis, who graduated from the Tempe Normal School in 1901, the Lines family has a Sun Devil lineage that is 123 years old. In May, the family celebrated Aubrey Lines becoming a fifth-generation ASU graduate when she graduated with a BS in interior design from The Design School.
Crestcencia Ortiz-Barnett
Forging her own path
Theater was an escape and an outlet for Crestcencia Ortiz-Barnett as a young girl in Detroit. “I learned to respect everyone who puts in the work, from the stage hand to the director, because together we tell these stories.” She graduated in May with a MFA in theatre directing from the School of Music, Dance and Theatre.
Bailey Pyritz
Finding their strengths
Bailey Pyritz, known in the Valley’s local music scene as Kylo Gun, graduated this May with a BA in media arts and sciences (music) from the School of Arts, Media and Engineering.
Lulu Ruiz
Pursuing creative dreams in LA
Lulu Ruiz grew up as a creative kid with a passion for art and music, creating collages, paintings and zines. In May, The Sidney Poitier New American Film School student graduated with a BFA in film and media production, as well as the tools and social network to turn their artistic passions into a creative career.
Winston Russell Turner
Launching an entrepreneur career
